Trains, trains, and more trains

So this past weekend we went to a Cherry Blossom Festival in a nearby town. I went armed with my camera to take beautiful shots of the kids in front of the blossoming trees, however I think we were a week early. They weren't quite in full bloom yet. Oh well. The highlight for my kids however was one of the vendors displaying their train set. It was HUGE and Cody could have stayed there all day watching the trains driving through there town. It made me think of Grandpa Williams and his old hobby with his trains. Perhaps with his retirement he could pick it back up (hint, hint :)) Midway is a good place for a train.

I also thought I would sneak this picture in of Cody. I tell ya it's tough to be a three year old!!!

Softball Mania!

So the softball season has begun in full swing down here in Georgia. It is amazing how serious they take their sports down here, especially baseball and softball. Our league has won state and regional championships for years counting. I am both very grateful and annoyed for this expertise coaching and experience Alexa is receiving. She learned more her first practice here than probably all four previous years of softball. That is fabulous. However it has taken over our lives. Practices several times a week and games lasting over two hours each. Did I feel this way every other season? Perhaps. Alexa loves it though and is getting quite good. I guess for that I can buck up and love every night at the baseball fields....

On another note, Paige recently had a Wacky Wednesday at school and I just had to take a picture of her to send to my family. If you know me at all, I am a little controlling when it comes to what my children wear, so we were all happy when a day came and Paige could pick whatever she wanted and be as crazy as possible and I was all right with it. :)

Learning Patience

So with both girls away all day long at school and Cody and myself at home together with no other entertainment, we are often searching high and low for things to do so he is happy and non-destructive (is that even a word?) Many times we resort to baking because I love it and he loves to be my helper (my waistline is hurting a bit though) However, after the mixing of the batter it can be difficult to wait until the final product due to baking time. I had to take this shot of my poor sweet boy learning the hard lesson of patience. He wanted his cookie SO bad.......
